Social Care Reform

Social care has created a bottleneck within the NHS. We have a bed blocking problem, which in turn caused an ambulance stacking problem.

Back in the early 90’s we had 340,000 hospital beds, today we have just 130,000 beds, but far more NHS staff. In the early 90’s our population was 56,000,000. Today it is 70,000,000. If you can explain to me how we are supposed to cope with a population 14 million bigger but only 1/3 of the beds then I am all ears.

Common sense would dictate that we either need more beds or more convalescence homes, care homes and care workers.

No amount of diversity managers will improve this crisis.
